Here's a little info about what really gave me the guts to start my quest for fitness:
"Hi, I'm Melissa and I'm a Sugaraholic."
|
February 23, 2012
For as long as I can remember, I've been addicted to sugar; from cereal to chocolate to white bread. It has always been hard for me to eat healthy and exercise regularly. Well, it has finally caught up with me. I'm tired of feeling yucky and tired all the time. I am sick of dreading stepping on the scale each morning. I am done with the dressing room meltdowns every time I try on jeans.

The list goes on and on.
The
thing is, I've started diets before; they usually last 1.5 days. I've
made countless exercise-tracking charts; I rarely make it to the gym
once a week. But for some reason, I feel like this time is different.
I
know that its not going to be easy, and there will most definitely be
hard days. But, if being healthy and fit was easy, everyone would be.
I'm not here to drop a quick 20 pounds. I'm here to change my lifestyle.
"All of the so-called secrets of success will not work unless you do."
Please,
stick around. My hopes are that these changes will not only affect me;
maybe my struggles and triumphs can benefit you as well.

Meet: My Inspirations
These people are responsible for the intervention that started it all:
They loved me enough to tell me what I didn't want to hear.
Mom runs like the wind- in marathons, half marathons, and triathlons.
She has the self control to eat one cookie. Just one.
She teaches PE at Manilla Elementary.
Dad exercises despite physical limitations from a car accident when I was 5.
He mountain bikes and takes me on walks when I'm in town.
He always asks how I'm feeling and if I'm taking care of myself.
Just call me a daddy's girl.
Chris is my loving husband- through thick and thin (literally).
He loves me, no matter what, and encourages me to do better.
He takes care of me when I don't take care of myself.
He lost 60 pounds on his own- without weight watchers or any other fancy system.
He gets my lazy butt of the couch and to the gym as much as I allow him to.
Without them I'd still be in denial.
