Today, I am grateful

Today I am grateful for a husband...
: who sings "Honey, I'm Home" by Shania Twain every time he walks in the door.
: who I can talk with all night long.
: who is willing to spend money on tickets for us to see Shrek at the Capitol Theater on Friday (!!!)
: who cleans off my car when he's running late (because, usually, I'm running later).
: who will cuddle with me, even when my out of control hair invades his breathing space.
: who keeps life interesting and fun with little surprises.
: who celebrates my smallest accomplishments.
: who constantly reminds me that he loves me.
Yeah, I know.
I'm cheesy.
I'm cliche.
But I don't care.

He's still got it.

Chris and I were at the $3 movie on Monday night...it was a spontaneous date, which was super fun; our schedules rarely allow dates on week nights. Anyway, Chris got up in the middle of the movie to "go to the bathroom" and came back with my favorite candy. Score. It means a lot when he goes out of his way to do things for me even though he doesn't really have to worry about impressing me anymore.

Aye Aye, Captain!

I can't believe that I forgot to blog about this:
I have a serious Captain America crush/fetish/weirdness...so, he paid me a little visit one evening. Moments like this make me so incredibly grateful to have a man who will go the extra mile or two to make me smile.
In case you weren't aware....I love my husband.

90 Minutes in Heaven

I got my first massage on Monday. Basically, my husband is amazing. I had hurt my back at the gym...nothing serious, just over-doing it....and was laying on the bed with a hot pad on my back. We got on the subject of how, when we were dating, Chris tried to surprise me with a massage at Massage Envy during finals...but I ruined it because I didn't know about it and went to lunch with my mom. While we were talking he got up and made a phone call....for a 90 minute massage. I was geeking out...my heart was doing the happy dance while my head was telling me that we couldn't afford it. Turns out, Chris had saved up his commission and was paying for it with that. Do I have the sweetest man, or what?
Long story (not so) short, it was amazing! I think everyone should get a 90 minute massage once a week and have husbands like mine.
Before, super excited!!!

After, visibly more relaxed. I've never been so chilled out.

That moment when...

This morning, Chris and I were just cuddling in bed...one of my favorite things to do, I could seriously cuddle all day long.
We had recorded Chris' favorite show last night, but we didn't stay awake long enough to watch it. Knowing that Chris had a long day of work ahead of him (9am-9pm), I asked him if he wanted to watch it before work.
His response? "Nah, I'd rather just enjoy cuddling with you.
Did I marry a keeper, or what?!

The Devil's Sperm

"How did you know that Chris really loved you?"
This is a question I get asked fairly often, and for good reason; we went from not knowing each other to engaged in less than 3 months.  I don't have to think very hard to get several examples of how Chris has shown his love for me. Here is one that has been on my mind lately:

We were engaged and living in South Carolina, doing an internship before the wedding. We had spent a weekend at his family's beautiful lake house.

We had a blast! When we got back from our mini vacation, I had an ear ache. I figured it was just some irritation from the lake water, so I administered a home remedy for swimmers ear. It continued to bother me and then, one morning I woke up and my ear had swollen shut. It hurt so bad and I was a weepy mess. Chris took charge. He called my boss and got me off work for the day, called my insurance company and found a clinic we could go to, and drove me to the doctor. They prescribed me some medicine and sent us on our way.
Well, it got a lot worse and I got a lot more hysterical and unreasonable; but Chris continued to be sweet and understanding, and did everything he could for me. One night, I was taking a bubble bath and this little guy fell out of my ear, and begun swimming around in the water.
We named it the devil sperm and Chris rushed me to the ER.
Long story short- It was a lake bug. I was prescribed the same antibiotics as the doctor before gave me- which made me extremely frustrated and increasingly emotional. When all the craziness subsided and I regained control over myself, I realized how lucky I was to have a man who would deal with me when I was so insane; and who would do so lovingly and understandingly, never judging my for my crying fits or unfair demands.
Just one of many ways I know that I married a keeper and am the luckiest girl alive.

Spoiled

I hope you all don't get sick of all my married life posts...but that's the best part of my life. I have been working a lot lately...for instance the last few days I've worked 2 ten-hour days and two 6 hour days. I've missed being home with my hubby and have just been exhausted constantly.
The last two nights I've come home to a little surprise from my sweet husband.
Two nights ago I found a treasure map on my desk. It took me around the apartment on a hunt for the treasure. I came upon a beautifully wrapped package. I opened it and found the iPad case I had been wanting for quite some time (key board included!! it was a steal too, $40 instead of $100) and a sweet note. It totally made my night.
Last night there were a few boxes of my favorite cereal and a hot pink snuggie! For some reason, I've wanted a one for awhile but couldn't bring myself to buy one. Chris found one for $2 and got it for me.
He knows how to make me happy. I could get used to this...although, I probably shouldn't or we won't have any money left!
Also, this photo makes me even happier. ;)

Happiness is...

Yesterday was a pretty crazy day. I was in school from 9:45-1:00, at work from 1:00-5:00, and then back to school from 7:00-10:00. Chris and I left for school in a big rush and the house was a disaster. When I got home from work I sprawled out on the bed, on top of a mountain of laundry, and stayed there until it was time to go back to school. I probably should have done something more productive, but I just couldn't do it.
When I got home from my night class, I returned to a totally different apartment; all of the rooms were spotless and every single article of clothing was hanging neatly in the closet.

And there was my sweet husband, waiting up for me. I was deliriously happy.
He is my favorite person in the whole world.

HotLips

My husband is the greatest; he knows exactly how to cheer me up.

Rewind with me back to Valentines Day. When I woke up that morning I realized that I hadn't bought any HotLips. Blasphemy! You cannot celebrate Valentines Day without HotLips. Anyway, so after work (mind you, "after work" for us is 7am) I made Chris drive me to 4 different store on a quest for HotLips. I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm a Valentines monster.
Well, there were no HotLips to be found. I was bummed, but I bought a big bag of strawberry frooties instead (to see how the frooties were ultimately my demise click here).

Fast forward with me to yesterday; I was bummed about numerous things and was kind of in one of those crying-for-no-real-reason moods. I snapped at Chris for not putting his cup in the sink and stormed off to lay in bed. I fell instantly asleep and slept for about 2 hours. When I woke up Chris had gone to the gym, done the dishes, taken a shower, and straightened up the apartment. I felt guilty for snapping, especially because he reciprocated with doing service for me.

Then I found a bag of HotLips on my desk. He is too much.

I'm grateful for a husband who loves me enough to cut me some slack when I'm down, and who puts effort into turning my day around.
for those of you who don't know what HotLips are...
I know this may seem counter productive in regards to my Sugaralholicism, but don't worry. I only eat the appropriate serving size after a well-balanced meal (instead of eating them as the meal. Progress!).
