Word Vomit

I enjoy going to bed at 8:30 and waking up at 7. Just what the doctor ordered.
I love that Chris loves Diet Coke just as much as I do, making it clear that we need 4 twelve packs for 12 dollars.
Its the best when your husband scratches your back until you fall alseep.
Greek yogurt. Its like ice cream.
It's getting chilly, sometimes I can even justify turning on the heat in the car. I'm ok with that.
Cupcakes from Cocoa Bean. Better than ice cream.
I haven't been to the gym all week. I'm ok with that.
Never ending pasta at olive garden. One million calories.....worth it.

I like living in a studio apartment. I get to lay in bed more because we don't have a couch.
I got blonde in my hair. I quite like it.

Chris is teaching me to play Risk. He destroys me every time. I love him for that.

Long ToDo lists.....I should be doing homework right now.
Obviously, I need to charge my phone....
I'm a lucky, lucky girl.

Rethink

Today was Grandma's funeral. I am so grateful that I was able to come down and be here with my family. I got to hear a lot of sweet stories and I learned some new things about her.
I was reminded that life is short; nothing is more important than family.
I got a wake up call; I need to be more present, I need to appreciate my loved ones more.
Maybe I could use a little less technology time and a little more personalized human interaction.
I am grateful to have so many great examples of love in my life; I am fortunate to have people who genuinely love and care for me. I want to make a conscious effort and give some of that back.

Grandma Marian

Grandma, at our wedding

Last Thursday, my great-grandma passed away. I hesitate to say "great" grandma because I feel like it lessens her importance in my life. She was there for all my performances, she never missed a birthday, and we spent many holidays together. We are all sad that she is no longer with us, but we are at peace knowing her and Grandpa are together again.

Her funeral is on Wednesday, and somehow the stars aligned and I am able to be there. I am so grateful that I am able to leave my job and school for a day and be with my family to remember such a special lady. I am also grateful for my sweet husband, being so supportive and loving through this whole process.

I am grateful to be related to such an incredible woman; no one could ever say a bad thing about her. She had many talents, one of them making everyone feel loved and important. I know that many people never know their great grandparents....I am so blessed to have almost 21 years with mine.

I love you grandma!

I love my red dress

I scored this little beauty on a shopping trip with my hubby last weekend. I love it. Its so versatile; I can wear it with heels or flats or sandals, with a sweater or by itself, with or without jewelry...And its comfy... And, I feel like a million bucks in it.
That is all.

let the semester begin...

Today is the first day of Fall semester. This may come as a shock to those of you who started 2+ weeks ago....to you I say, "ha, ha!"
I only have classes on Tuesday and Thursday. Awesome. Then I work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 8-12:30 at the box office. And that's it! I honestly couldn't ask for a better schedule, or a better on campus job.
Chris, who is a lot farther into his major, is getting into his core classes. His days start with a 6:30am class. He is such a trooper!
You can tell he's sleepy...but still so handsome!
I am such a cheeser for taking first day of school photos.

Twice in 7 Weeks

We have moved twice in seven weeks. Twice. Oi.

Honestly, its a long and boring story....but things at the assisted living facility didn't work out. Just not for us. If we weren't about to start school, we would have just stuck it out....but we start on Monday. Grades are money and if we aren't doing well in school it doesn't matter how much money we are saving. School comes first.

It was a blessing from heaven when the apartment we wanted/could afford became available right before school starts. That hardly ever happens in Rexburg...usually there is a 6 month-1 year waiting list.

Anyway...so the last 3 or 4 days has consisted of us frantically moving from one apartment to another. We didn't really want to take the time to box things up and such, so we stuffed our cars full and took about 3 trips. Probably not the most efficient way...but we got things done. I finished unpacking last night around 1:30; it was worth it to wake up to a spotless, organized apartment.

Now, I just have to endure until Saturday when Chris doesn't have to work the night shift and I don't have to sleep alone.
I love this little area!

Our Closets/Space for our bed

I am so excited to have our own kitchen again!
Even though I hate moving and the last few days have been a headache, I am glad to have Chris by my side...to ease the stress and help me see the humor in every situation.

6.21 [Check]

Today was race day! Despite some stressful bumps beforehand (aka locking the keys in the trunk....losing my headphones...) I had a really great experience.

I finished in 79:31 with an average of 12:48/mile. When I first started, it took me about 15 minutes to run one mile!
Now, I know I haven't accomplished anything super impressive in the wider scheme of things...there are people who ran faster and longer than I did. I met the woman who took second place in the marathon, finishing in a little over two hours and thirty minutes (!) and she said to me; everyone has to start somewhere.
