That moment when...

This morning, Chris and I were just cuddling in bed...one of my favorite things to do, I could seriously cuddle all day long.
We had recorded Chris' favorite show last night, but we didn't stay awake long enough to watch it. Knowing that Chris had a long day of work ahead of him (9am-9pm), I asked him if he wanted to watch it before work.
His response? "Nah, I'd rather just enjoy cuddling with you.
Did I marry a keeper, or what?!

six.two

September 1.
I signed up for a 10K. I don't run, probably haven't run more than 3 miles at a time. I have a little over a month to train.

I realized a couple of days ago that I had hit the wall, fitness wise. I wasn't really getting anywhere, and (to be honest) I was digressing; gaining the weight back and finding more and more excuses. I needed to find something to get my butt in gear; something to hold me more accountable, a goal to work towards.

I'm lucky to have a lot of support from friends and family. I'm going to need it!
Let the training begin...yesterday

Oh heyyyy

Well life has been insane! I'm not sure if I ever mentioned anything on here, but we moved! We have landed ourselves a place with free rent. You certainly can't beat that...especially being poor and married like Chris and I are.
Here are some photos of our new place (...for those of you who don't follow me on instagram.)
Trying to get everything in its place before my head exploded.
The best part.

Life is good. Chris has taken such good care of me this past week, especially when I've been stressed (and tired...a bad combination). Even though the move was hard- especially with no help....it was so worth it and we are so blessed to have this opportunity!

A quick shout out to two of my very close friends that got engaged recently. Marriage is great, guys! You're gonna love it!
Miss Amberly Hurst. Tying the knot on December 22. She caught the bouquet at my wedding!

And Rachel Mortenson. She was my first friend I made when we moved to PG. Getting married on August 24.
I love you both so much and couldn't be happier for you!
Hit me up and we'll get you all set up with some Victoria's Secret! :)

Life Lately

"People say motivation doesn't last, but neither does bathing and that's why we need it daily."

Life lately has been a lot of the daily grind: going to work, finding time to work out, and squeezing some fun in there. Sometimes, it gets old and I have no motivation to do anything....and other times I find myself ridiculously happy for no reason; just loving life.

I've rediscovered my love for the little things; notes from my husband, sleeping in, cuddling, meeting a new person at work, or enjoying a piece of cheese cake- those are the things that make life good.

One of the best moments.
I need to invest more time and energy into the small things in life: more pillow talk, more "I love you's", more random acts of kindness. In the end, that's all that really matters anyway.

[Side Note: I have a new phone! If you want/need my new number- message me, I lost a lot of contacts!]

LIEBSTER

I received this award from the lovely Hailey over at dreaming outloud. Thanks baby cakes!
I guess I am out of the loop! Bloggers award other bloggers awards. It's pretty genius if you ask me. Liebster means a lot of things, but lets just say its a lot of nice words like endearing, welcome, lovely, & beloved. Along with the award, the recipient is supposed to provide 11 facts and answer 11 questions.

FACT
:: I use mens deodorant, Old Spice to be exact. For some reason, it just works better than the wimpy girl kind. Mens razors are also tons better.
:: I require (at least) 8 hours of sleep to be sociably tolerable. Anything less makes it extremely hard for me to be pleasant; mixing hunger with lack of sleep is exponentially catastrophic.
:: I don't like syrup on my pancakes/waffles...too soggy; honey butter and whipped cream are my drug of choice.
:: I am addicted to perfume, lotion, and nail polish. [Blog post on that to come]
:: I love Captain America and am currently coveting this phone case. Too legit.
:: The hubby and I love reality TV; our current favorite is The Biggest Loser and Swamp People.
:: I can't sleep unless both of my feet are hanging off the bottom of the bed.
:: My ideal outfit consists of yoga pants, flip flops, a sock bun, and a loose T-shirt.
:: I secretly enjoy folding laundry.
:: Me+My iPod+Mazda 3=Content & could drive forever
:: I aspire to write a relationship self-help book.
:: I am a big cry baby...I'm working on it.

QUESTION
If you could live any book, what would it be?
::  Soldier of the Great War. It's set in old Italy and the women wear the most beautiful clothes and take long walks through vineyards. Heaven.
If you could get married to an animated character who would it be?
:: That's an interesting thought... for some reason I keep coming back to Sully from Monsters Inc...he's such a teddy bear.
When you own your own home, what color do you want the front door to be?
:: Something bright and fun, knowing my husband...bright red would suit us best.
Who did you spend the best day of your life so far with?
:: That's easy...my wedding day, with all the people whom I love and care about- most importantly my new, darling husband
Where do you want to get married?
:: I'm already married, but I wouldn't change a thing. We were married by Chris' grandpa in the Salt Lake temple
What was your favorite toy/item as a child?
:: Most definitely my Karaoke machine...I sang Britney's "Baby One More Time" to shreds (to the dismay of my parents and any house guests).
Where is your ideal place to live?
:: Wherever God wants us to live, which is where we're supposed to be and where we'll be happiest. If I have any say though, it would be near family and warm most of the year.
If you were to tell someone you love them right now, who would it be?
:: Obviously, my husband...but I also need to call Grandma and Grandpa Jenkins and give them some love.
What is your favorite youtube video?
:: Its a tie between Antoine Dodson ("Hide yo kids, hide yo wives...") and this singing cat video. Don't judge.
What is your favorite disney song?
:: Too hard to choose! But, currently, I really love "I See the Light" from Tangled.
If you could meet someone dead or alive, who?
:: I would love to meet Jason Robert Brown. He has written some of the most beautiful music. I would try my hardest to convince him to write a role for me. :)

The Devil's Sperm

"How did you know that Chris really loved you?"
This is a question I get asked fairly often, and for good reason; we went from not knowing each other to engaged in less than 3 months.  I don't have to think very hard to get several examples of how Chris has shown his love for me. Here is one that has been on my mind lately:

We were engaged and living in South Carolina, doing an internship before the wedding. We had spent a weekend at his family's beautiful lake house.

We had a blast! When we got back from our mini vacation, I had an ear ache. I figured it was just some irritation from the lake water, so I administered a home remedy for swimmers ear. It continued to bother me and then, one morning I woke up and my ear had swollen shut. It hurt so bad and I was a weepy mess. Chris took charge. He called my boss and got me off work for the day, called my insurance company and found a clinic we could go to, and drove me to the doctor. They prescribed me some medicine and sent us on our way.
Well, it got a lot worse and I got a lot more hysterical and unreasonable; but Chris continued to be sweet and understanding, and did everything he could for me. One night, I was taking a bubble bath and this little guy fell out of my ear, and begun swimming around in the water.
We named it the devil sperm and Chris rushed me to the ER.
Long story short- It was a lake bug. I was prescribed the same antibiotics as the doctor before gave me- which made me extremely frustrated and increasingly emotional. When all the craziness subsided and I regained control over myself, I realized how lucky I was to have a man who would deal with me when I was so insane; and who would do so lovingly and understandingly, never judging my for my crying fits or unfair demands.
Just one of many ways I know that I married a keeper and am the luckiest girl alive.

Back to Basics

Today, I was thinking to myself "Wow. I'm married! That's so crazy!" It's weird how things like that just hit you all of a sudden. You would think that after almost a year of marriage I would be adjusted and used to the idea.

About a year and four(ish) months ago, Chris and I began our relationship. It looked a little like this:
Can you believe it? A marriage resulted in Chris commenting on one of my pictures to test the waters. It still blows my mind.
Then, Chris got gutsy...
He just may kill me for posting this.
[I know that Facebook has a bad rep for being superficial and a big fat waste of time. But, every once in awhile something great comes as a result of it.]
I am just so incredible grateful. I'm grateful that Facebook existed and gave Chris and I a stress free place to get to know each other. I'm grateful Chris took me on the most amazing first date ever! I'm grateful that I am sitting next to him on the couch right now- just chillin'- and that I get to spend every single day with my favorite person in the world.
